About the Superman Returns update, on the good points side, still have to get around to that.

In other news, recently OCR-ed the entire superman Sunman debut movie screenplay. Been waiting to get properly set-up before tearing into it for updating, and perhaps for doing some overhaul of a few things, if the muse strikes me that way. Also want to access more input, which likely won't be available until September and onwards. It's probable that once I'm heavy into the revising of the debut screenplay, that I'll diverge then on occassion to pay attention upon the Prequel ( before Sunman ) movie concept and screenplay as well.

Had some computing impediment difficulties over the past while ( few months ) that I'm working on resolving with a few measures, some already in hand - these should be completely in place by the end of the month or so ( and thereafter, new measures explored to further augment these ).

On these sort of impediments ( where in general somewhat universal ) , I've ideas about ( improving ) computing concepts that I might see about exploring once I have the opportunity to collaborate with techno geeks on these design speculations I have.

On an interesting note, "Batgirl" Alicia Silverstone is currently in town ( roundabout the area ) shooting a movie. The Rolling Stones are due for a concert appearance here next month too.

Superman Returns, sometimes with terminal velocity -and just what amount of overall strength is required to lift a fair massive chunk of real estate?

Saw Superman Returns a couple of times. It was alright, but not stupendous. I would mention a number of criticisms, but why lead a competitor up the right tree? But there's the very quite obvious things that anyone would see, like that Clark Kent's disquise yields Superman one more superpower, the ability to create an incredulous force field around him of sight nonrecognition ( but, albeit, that's been true of all the Superman movies and shows ) .

Here's how I would imagine Clark Kent might be greeted many times during the day:

Hey, are you, like, Superman's twin or what?

And the more inquiresome kind, like reporters, would not leave it at that.. .

More questions ensue.., like why is it that Superman can't keep tabs on Lois Lane - with say his superhearing ability, since it's a pretty near 100% certainty, from past experiences, that she'll always manage to get herself into dire straights ( at the very heart of the problem du jour ) in very short order, and even twice, or trice so, within a span of a day or few, or even potentially within any x number of hours.

( P.S. : ..and I would think Lois might be more impressed with Superman after he saves her a first time around ( and she might be a tad more emotionally stressed, not to mentioin bruised, after the incident, where she literally slams into a wall or hard surface at least four or five times.. )

Like to pass along one thing though for a future Superman sequel, maybe the screenwriters could include just a weee tad more ( in stunning visuals, and with a shot of the intense dejection of Superman as he discovers he can't reclaim the past of his home world after all ) about his 5 year excursion to Krypton - if one coughed during Superman Returns, you might have missed the short shrift passed along about this. Just a suggestion.

I do have a concept seed for a future Superman sequel movie , that can be summed up in say seven words or so, that would make for a somewhat deeper and more emotionalectually compelling Superman based movie, but like I'm going to say what that is right here and now, huh?

Likely will post some of the things I better liked about the movie, for proper balance sakes, within the next while.

The dramalab TV pilot project process is about to enter a hiatus period over the summer, so I'll be back focused solely on my own Sunman projects very soon.

A development item from last week should enhance ongoing productivity, and I expect this will be making a positive impact on these Sunman based projects over the near timeframe.

I'll be watching to see how the new Superman movie goes over, and evaluating it's attributes relative to my own response and considered overview for the film. It's something of an advantage to have the chance to see the recent fare of the big three ( Batman, Spiderman, and Superman - perhaps throw in the X-men too ) - being able to see what works for me, in what appears to be well done, and being able to get a sense of those elements in them that appear as somewhat problematic in the recent fare. With Superman, for instance, there's many alternative interpretations of Superman's various multitude of powers - and not necessarily all of these compatible with each other, or realistically comprehenable in the physical realm of nature.

When I start an update ( over the summer ) of my Sunman origin screenplay, and, while I further prepare the Sunman Prequel project concept/screenplay, I'll keep my observations in mind.

3 weeks later... another month, another update. Still attending the writer-actor-director ( TV show pilot project ) sessions. Getting some useful feedback at these.

Haven't been able to do the ( new characters ) twins' scene clip yet ( they've been absent for the last number of sessions ). Should be in contact with them again soon though at upcoming sessions. Just as well as, available soon, is a development item that will greatly enhance productivity matters and which will also help with tweaking the material for this scene.

Same productivity item will kick-off renewed work on: the Sunman Prequel feature movie concept; revisions of the Sunman debut screenplay; additions to the ongoing online Sunman prequel comic book episodes; and other initatives.

I discovered I've sold some superhero Sunman promo tees lately ( some trivial for you: did you know I own the internet domains www.superherotees.com and www.superherotee.com ? - these will help down the road on the promo products side when Sunman becomes a mega superstar superhero) . Cool tees for a cool superhero figure. The tees are pretty good deals right now as I haven't added any of my own markup ( other than a cent or so ) over Cafepress's base prices. Another tee ( woman's style tee only ) I have for sale is a real cutie ( pix of a dog) found on my www.beautyeh.com tees online shop at http://www.cafepress.com/beauty_eh_stuff.59457153 - think I've got about a dollar mark-up on this one. Just a fun thing I thought I'd mention.

So in general getting set up to rev the engines and acccelerate things superhero Sunman down a fast track the rest of this year.

Thought I'd post an update since it's been 2 months since the last one.

No, things superhero Sunman haven't been idle the last while, just been engaged in associated activity in support of things superhero Sunman like attending an actors/writers/directors lab for further exploration of the interactivity involved in making shows and motion pictures.

Might have some tangible media available to view soon arising from the above - I've contacted a few of the actors about doing a short digital video clip that I'd post on the Sunman websites. The clip is a scene featuring all new material and new feature characters I'll be further developing, namely on the villain side of the world of superhero Sunman leger (these characters will later go toe to toe with Sunman in a future episode).

On the music side, I've obtained (yet) another domain name intended for a site devoted to the creation of original and fantastic hit songs (a few of which would be themed in association with Sunman), namely: songwritersconclave.com.

I also have domains where I can post video clips including those featuring the world of superhero Sunman, including this domain: webishows.com .

Also obtained a domain for a previous (non Sunman) screenplay I'd written, namely: realrealgonethemovie.com .

As for the distribution of Sunman based comic book episodes, I'll be exploring the possibility of providing these in a (on) dvd or cd format (as opposed to on paper), since that'll likely be the most cost effective way of making these initially available.

So that's a few things that have been going on of late, and a few things about to rise on the horizon.

All in all, the mission incredible, if you chose to be enveloped by it, as always:

Besides superhero Sunman related projects, Superhero Sunman Entertainment Enterprises ( that's SSEE, see .. ) intends to encompass other entertainment or enterprising adjuncts in it's operations. Some of these have taken up some of my time recently. Such as several concepts that I've envisioned for development in due course. With regards to these, I've obtained a number of domain names for use as the future home sites for these concepts. For instance, I've conceived a concept for a fun new wordplay game, something to look out for ( re product development) from SSEE in the days ahead.

With regards to the Sunman projects, I may well devote the rest of this month on development efforts towards creating a world of Sunman / and or Sky based song, or two, seeing as the Junos are coming to town soon ( Canada's top music awards show and extravaganza - with Coldplay, the Black Eyed Peas, Byran Adams, and Nickleback among others sked to perform ) . A potential hit Sunman thematically based song will help promote the Sunman film projects, the vibe of Sunman, plus could as well provide one early avenue of income stream in support of the ongoing development of those projects.

P.S. I've a number of domains intended for sites related to the "song hit" music arena. Why all the interest in music in relation to things Sunman? For one, the Sunman projects are intended to have a very strong (exceptional..) pop-indie and enveloping song/music component to them, music and songs to play a key integral role in the fabric of the experience of the world of things Sunman.

Get Back on Track, Jack!

Okay, it's been awhile since the last update. Had to run a few hoops around some site problems the last couple of weeks after my webserver moved to a new server, and due to a few other things. Just about getting back on track now. Updated a few pages since, and likely will continue a general (almost) spring clean-up of the Sunman sites to get everything up to date current for 2006-07.

Just now working on some rights matters (involving mostly accruing requisite funds needed for them), which will help when it comes time to launch superhero Sunman projects for later on down the road in 06 and into 07.

It's a wee late in the evening right now, so I'll leave a progress and projection update on the creative side of things for another time, soon.

Wow. Time flies.. . Didn't realize it's been so long since my last entry.

Just a few things to say of recent activity.

Got a spate of domain names recently, some in support of things superhero Sunman, some with respect to concepts I have concerning ideas I've had in the past ( some exciting), or some of a more immediate vintage. One of the latter is my new domain www.beautyeh.com, which site has been created in the spirit of the fun or awesome undercurrent of life ( something that's also found in the world of superhero Sunman ).

Some of these new domains may well assist in helping resource some superhero Sunman based projects. More ways to kick a can down the road than just one, eh?

So I've spent some time over the last couple of weeks on these. And these will absorb some additional time over the next while too.

However, I'll be progressing ahead with superhero Sunman project based activity also, though December's not the best month of the year to get much done. January onward will likely see the most forward momentum. Did get waylaid awhile off the Prequel movie ( screenplay) path, but I intend to return focus back on this very soon, while topping off the online comic book, prequel episode three.

Sunman will get some Southren Cal exposure this weekend, at least the promo superhero Sunman tees anyway. I'm expecting to receive some pictures of them being worn around L.A. locales this weekend, which I'll post on the superhero Sunman sites.

Though not much new has been posted to the websites of late, there are tasks being currently undertaken.

Such as an ongoing dialogue concerning the making of a superhero Sunman based pop song.

Such as Sunman projects' promotional preparation for an upcoming film festival.

Such as the envisioning of the realization of a succession of Sunman projects over the course of the next two years.

It's been awhile since the last post....

....So just want to give a short shout out on recent activity.

Been posting ads on behalf of certain aspects of superhero Sunman projects and objectives. I've been assessing the results, while responding to the replies. Promising possibilities might develop from this activity.

Got an order of a few various styles of superhero Sunman brand name image TEES from my Sunman (Cafepress.com provided) online shop, and they appear to be A-Ok. Plan is to giveaway some of these for promotion - likely at an event later this week.

On the creative side, it's time to resume adding new superhero Sunman material soon. Still though there's a few roadblocks that are impeding this process to which I'll need to attend. One thing I did today, however, for instance, is that I jotted down some potential lyrics for a superhero Sunman based song that might suit a certain musician / performer.

Couldn't realize the Vegas convention presence, but have tried other approaches like the ads mentioned above.

An upcoming film festival will be another opportunity to pitch Sunman.

A Rock and Roll Suncast- August, the 05.

Superhero Sunman Entertainment Enterprises (SSEE) wants you, August, the 05, to rock 'n roll.

To help faciliate superhero Sunman projects and initiatives, SSEE will be exploring outside participation starting in August, beginning with the local area environment.

An ad's been placed the first week of August in a widely distributed, entertainment guide for purpose of soliciting interactivity, and an ongoing interactive stream of input that's to encapsule creative, logistical, financial, and strategic action, feedback and support.

Projects topping the synergetic agenda include: a low budget Sunman Prequel movie; the Sunman origin movie project; world of Sunman based comic book title series; a potential superhero Sunman screentest concept; licensing matters; and branded promo goods.

This interactivity should help further progress the screenplay and outline I'd begun for the Prequel movie concept, and the tasks of rewrites, and movie packaging, for my debut, live action, superhero Sunman origin story, feature movie screenplay.

Such interplay might as well provide you with new features to look forward to, like short clips, a possible (completed) theme song or two, cool superhero Sunman -"on the street" available- gear like promo Tees, maybe even an onweb host to provide enertaining behind the scenes coverage.

The synergy may also help locomote further onward the latest online Sunman Prequel comic book issue ( #3 ) that's been stalled awhile - via this opportunity to separate the current impeding constaint between story-line and ( desired superior ) artwork.

Just discovered there's ( ..at least one, anyway: http://blogs.icerocket.com ) search engines that yield the latest new blog entries about any given search subject. Whether of the latest entries posted today, during over the past week, etc. .

So to keep news about fantastic things superhero Sunman "fresh" ( U.S. licensee OP is today's focus), I'll post more frequent, snappy, updates in the superhero Sunman blog.

I'm looking to license the (superhero) Sunman trademark (in promotional association to my character superhero Sunman) as pertains to one or two particular use categories. Just saw the War of the Worlds movie, circa 2005. A perfunctory enough retelling of the story, quite pulse pounding intense at times, but what otherwise seemed as mechanical and unplausible in many respects - it had just too many unlikely plot contrivances.

It was acted well enough, but that wasn't the source of what I saw as some of ít's inherent problems - that what prevented it from going into the classic category.

There could, I might add, have been more acting in it in terms of a few more characters ( close-up personal interaction of strangers become compatriots ), just to add more of a rounded view of general individual folk's awareness and reaction to the invasion ( more than just from one very - and quickly.., since the invasion seemed less than a week old - ...crazed whack character played by Tim Robbins ) .

Could one expect to believe the working man Cruise character would be the one guy in all of New York to know how to get a EMP whacked car to re-start? (and how come he never told anybody else that helpful knowledge along the way as he wove by countless disabled cars).

Again the CGI graphics didn't look real 'real' to me ( especially the broad panoramic type views ) - something about the fuzziness inherent in these (the alien craft) didn't have the sharp lines or subtle features that define an absolute object moving through the real world, within it's air turbulent, gravitous, environment. The crafts' dangling arms whipping about too fluidly, without "weight", stresses, didn't seem worldy also. The spindly, bendy, multi-story-tall, three legs of the walker/airships didn't appear to support their main bodies' weight - not a practical source of locomotion in any case.

Then that a plane just happens to crash almost on exact top of the out of town home Tom C. and family flee to, that was a bit much. Kind of hard to believe they would also have a nicely clear path to drive their car out from amidst all the strewn about wreckage.

And how come one of the alien craft would decide to surface from below water and ram headlong into the ferry boat - just for dramatic license. The alien craft must have real tough front bumpers perhaps. ( The point is, it could easily just have blasted it all to heck. )

Then the whole "spewing" out business seemed incredulous and super gratudinous - meant to present the disturbing sweep of a naseating setting for the one to one encounter scenes rather than much of a realistic scenario. Evil Aliens - they're gigantic slob guys? Sure they might waste the enviroment some, but the whole blood and insides spurting about everywhere ( as evidenced by all the red liquid or stringy stuff lying on the surface area everywhere) was way overboard.

Weren't they ingesting folks and wouldn't just spurting out stuff everywhere just be one gigantic wastefulness of their seeming protein food source. First of all, their ray canons vaporized people into dust in the cities (would leave things dusty only), til, in the countryside, they got about to, from ahigh, stabbing down for individual folk for supper, unless, they rather instead decided to just pick one up for convenient fast food storage later.

One curious plot contivance also, did the aliens have so untold many of their "underground risen, walker/airships" that they could go around plodding through the wrecked foundations of every countryside home everywhere - including the one which just happened to shelter Cruise and his daughter. If these had been hidden underground a long time, all about the world, surely people would've stumbled on at least one of them sometime ages ago.

The ending though was the most unreal of all. Kind of like the conclusive homecoming scene ending from some everyday holiday time, Thanksgivings Day like movie - with the homestead, and homestead street and local neighbourhood looking totally intact, and the ( ex) wife, prim, proper, unchanged looking!, waiting at the screen door like nothing much at all adnormal had happened since the couple had last seen one another, just there waiting for their kids to be dropped off. Even the wayward son is back safe and sound, fully intact - none the worse for wear despite having been frontline amidst an army armoured array position at the business end focal point of an all incompassing firestorm of an alien counter attack.

Generally too much a grab for a guey landscape setpiece, and continual perilous action suspence, at the expence of an overall haunting and eerie reverance as what might hang in the air, amid a world of loss, dispair, but also of resilient anger. What's missing is the essense of the hope clinging, defiant mindfulness and clever resourcefulness of a humanity that's greater than mass mobs in mote surrender raving, or an occasional individual who's become unhinged.

The aliens' being brought down by lowly Earth bugs, that could have been played up, not so quickly dispenced with, with say, instead of Cruise just getting the word from someone else, it would've been nice to have him discover this for himself as one of the mightly alien airship falters as it closes in on him, cornered, for a fate that before had seemed totally doomed. Wild wondrous awestruck elation of emotion to follow, then the manyfold reactions that erupt from all the fellow huddled humanity nearby. Hee haw! The ironic given it's full due.

Talking about hee haw, I'll be looking into some things the next week to advance posssible new superhero Sunman developments. We'll see how it goes, then get on back to you if something of noteworthyness transpires.

Til then, hey, on the softer side of things, the movie Elizebethtown looks like it may be good viewing, from the impression left by it's trailer. But the whole commercials before movies thing though is getting out of hand. Trailers are okay, some are cool, but everyday commercials are a real turn-off that's maybe impacting cinema attendance - too darn much like seeing regular old, commercial strewn, TV viewing - so why go to the theatre, and spend lots of your cash, at all huh, if you got to endure all the commercial crap there too, that you can at least remote roam zap at home for free?

Batman Begins - row seven from the front, center

Don't got the time right now to get into this much. But went to see Batman Begins the other day, and got mixed POV's ( ie. both good and bad ) on my own impressions of it.

From my reading of the script a few months ago, I pretty well had many of the same POV's already in mind. Now upon seeing the movie itself, many of these pre-envisioned expectations were "confirmed". There were some other new impressions however about such things, like, how the action on the page was cinematically "translated" onto screen, that provided new insights - including one big stylistic bugaboo* ( for me at least ) that I'd really very much want to avoid in any superhero Sunman based movie - for the sake of the viewing audience.

P.S. A thing that's especially annoying for an IMAX type screening - thankfully I was at an ordinary type cinema for this viewing.

Batman Begins' unsupersized Box Office

Just some personal observations on the openning weekend box-office of Batman Begins. It was about in line with what I figured it may be - superhero fare solid but not particularly spectacular. Several points I noted about the film, it's composition of parts, overall favors, and it's marketing, gave me this kind of vibe on how it may fare - though these factors may not have been able to have been avoided given the needed, return to home base, remake of the Batman, and of his ( I still feel is substantively ) antiquanted world.

Hopefully when time comes for the debut Sunman movie's release, many of those pitfalls I preceived here, excitement generating wise in the Batman Begins camp, shall not be present to hinder the extent of Sunman's own box office appeal. Partly since Sunman will have no precident of reigns on it's ability to please that future audience's appetite, and since the projected Sunman movie will have multiple aspects and layers of appeal going for it.

One pitfall the Batman faced that I might mention is just the sheer cost of production itself of making Batman Begins (150 mil I believe) . Which perhaps drained off somewhat the marketing coffers available to support it in a more enthusiastically vibrant push type of way. Spidey by the way had lots of that going for him. The particular alotment of roles personality/cast, in totality together, excluding Katie Holmes, also painted an overally grave sullen face and general murky presense - little flare of energetism to get all that excited about. Besides, didn't see all that much of a Holmes - Batman sizzle presented either.

I've get several other observations but it's best I keep these for my own personal illumination on what I'd like to be accomplished in contrast in achieving for the Sunman the audiences' box office vote of crazy ole wild unrestained enthusiasm.

Oh yeah, it's still been slow going on the Sunman front the last three weeks. Bum leg hadn't quite been up to near normal painfree scotch soon as expected til just last few days really, and I'd been focusing on it's rest and care. Been some other constricting conditions the while also. So let's just scratch off the last two months. New material progress however is about to be resumed from about now onwards.

About zilt was done in May 05 on things Sunman.

A serious family matter the first part of the month combined with a bad leg sprain ( that I aggrivated as well ) the last week and a half of the month made May 2005 a near complete wash-out, in a month that also happened to actually set month-long all-time rainfall records hereabouts.

Well the Sun's back the last day or two, the leg's on the mend, and actor and producer celebs are buzzing about town on various productions. So meantime, I'll be looking to getting back into full, near Summer fever, swing shortly.

Sorry about the lack of activity in May, the 05.

Luckily though it's going to be:

Hobbled some the last few days by a strained calf. Overdid it with running, then later the same day, a fair bit of cycling. A little too extreme for the leg ( with a run per day for over 1000 days on its odemeter) . Being a temporary hobblelet limited productive progress over this short while.

Leg's getting better, having rested it today ( smart) , after taxing it the day before ( dumb) when I went to Monday's latest actor/director writers session.

Might try to spring a concept called Project Sunrise. Like Project Greenlight, but it'll be, rather, all about superhero Sunman based projects, and the processes and people that'd be involved in helping me get these projects successful planned, enabled, finetuned, pitched and realized.

It'll be like send in the clowns ( ragtag team of project support folk ) and let's get this party jump-started.

Media forms of the behind the scenes high-jinxs would be posted online, and perhaps media snippets of ongoing projects in progress ( like scene enactments, storyboard art, audio, etc. ).

Might run by the general concept on some local area creatives later this week.

Could be an idea a production company like say a Dimension Films could get behind. I mention them as they're a company known for mega pic look for ( relative ) bargain bucks budget, perhaps a good potential collaborative partner for some one or other Sunman based project.

Workin' on the PreQuel Update

Nope, I haven't been doing a Van Winkle the last few weeks.

Rather, still am working at the Prequel short script, which may just become a short ( or regular ole ) feature film script. It might alternatively be broken into segments for a serial type of media presentation ( they used to have that type of continuum of ongoing shorts years ago - like Flash Gordon for instance. ). There's also other possible concepts that might be explored.

Since the last shout out, have attended a few more actor-director-writer sessions.

Also have refined the opening scene for the Prequel film by reving the action quotient more.

Plus, I've added on the next few scenes that follow this thrilling take-off.

Basically, after the main storyline "current" action of the first scene, I take Sky back next through a few flashbacks ( among them past action highlights ) to give you all some background contexts to Sky's world.

After this section, I'll go then straight bore ahead again with the main storyline, as to what occurs over the course of around one pivotal year in Sky's life* ( *before Sunman ).

Someday, I will be a Jedi Knight! And the prequel script and film will be done!

Sunman Short: Act One - Scene Two

Since my last post:

- renewed my superherosunman.com domain
- attended writers-actors-directors ( WAD) session last week, getting some more feedback
- last couple days, wrote the (extreme action) second scene of the Sunman short film project
- saw Spiderman 2 again while chilling out with friends on Easter weekend
- did another edit of the first scene of the Sunman short film project, especially the key openning paragraph or two ( to speed the plough for all you astute script readers out there... )
- did some trademark related measures
- achieved world peace, and orange juice for all ( okay, not quite that.. )

Some general notes re the WAD session, feedback on my spec Requiem of a Blade Runner screenplay's poignant concluding scene ( that I've been giving a reworking as well ) indicated a favorable reaction, aside from a few script wording type things, mostly near off the top of the scene in a description heavy part.

One thing I should get back at is my Real Real Gone screenplay, but of course the main soup d'jour must be the a primary focus on my superhero Sunman based projects, especially the feature length, and short film, screenplays for them.

Just picked up the actors-director-writer session missed eariler in the week and got some more feedback on the openning scene slated for the Sunman Prequel short film project, a scene which I hadn't had much time ( couple hours ) to workover this past week . So I'll spend more adequate time on it over the next few days.

Did some work also revamping the final, poignant, scene of my spec Bladerunner Sequel screenplay as an exercise while up late the night before , and brought that in too. However, feedback was limited to a portion off the top of that. Just as well seeing as I hadn't the time yet to give it a good and proper rewrite going over.

May rework a scene for the next session as well from my Real Real Gone screenplay as another exercise. Perhaps not as I shouldn't stray too much from my primary focus on the superhero Sunman prequel short film project screenplay.

Had to forgo this Monday's writer-actor-director session as I wasn't properly collected and prepared for it as I was scrurrying about that day taking care of superhero Sunman business matters. I'll make up for the missed session though, and report back on it.

Meantime, still got a few more things to attend on the business front before I can return focus back full force on the creative side. Like an actor, I need to get fully emershed into a process of enveloping continuity in the creative realm without too much outside distraction banging on the door disrupting the slipstream of connection. Most likely will again work over the Sunman prequel short project's openning scene tomorrow though.

Short Film Online Instalment Plan Anyone?

Got some more feedback on the intended openning scene for the Sunman Prequel short film project on the Monday night jam. An idea I had should this project take longer than expected to be realized ( later on into the 05 than expected ) is that I could post instalments on the Sunman websites.

So for instance, the openning scene could be filmed ( at this stage it might well just be a screentest like 'table read' of it ), and the media file of that posted online. Even a table read might be fun to see - I myself have seen early table reads of the first Star Wars movie's screentests, and they are kind of fascinating. People like Kurt Russell, and Terri Nunn ( Berlin ) were among those that gave it a shot. I found Terry Nunn's take quite good, she had an imperial sensibility.

However as I may likely use some of the folks in the actor/director/writer Monday sessions, what with this being a small group ( actor pool ), anyone in these 'screentests' would likely not much physically resemble the actual characters - I would just be trying to have them take a stab at trying to project the nature of the characters in the context of that scene.

Or I might just try other tacks on this theme, like posting an audio only version of the scene ( so the physical discrepancies aren't distracting) or a storyboard only version.

After the first scene gets online "aired", I may add the next scene later, then the next, and so on. Not sure how far I'll go into the entire screenplay of the short - I'd post enough for you to get a sense of the building drama, action and adventure that sweeps along Sky on a soul searing quest, and the worldwind rush of the fantastic and perilous journey of one pivotal year in his youth.

Well I'm going to rework the openning scene a wee more in any case, then get back to molding the next scenes that'll adhere to the overall scope of vision I have for the rest of the short film.

Can't do nuthin' about the weather though. Hurricane force gusts out there last night, and a big wind chilldown freeze today. But I hear spring hasn't been cancelled. And I'm alright with that!

Deja Vu

Just a short note. Today I was working once more over that overview ( for funding access ) I started yesterday. Got it about ready to take around, something I just may do tomorrow. Also fought tooth and nail with the printer awhile too - darn thing had up and decided it didn't take a real shining to underlines. So the underlines had to go, had no choice pal. Printers can really a** askew one's so fine and proper prim copy when it's got a mind to being difficult. And I'm not even marrried to it.

Will be getting back to the creative, oh so much more lovely, fun side of the road, soon. First thing on the blotter there is to tackle the (Sunman prequel short project) scene rewrite I also mentioned yesterday. Got to do that before Monday anyway.

Where's the money... .

This time of year I generally get tunnel vision focused on addressing the question:

Where's the money...??!!

Like in that Jerry Mcquire movie.

( But not.., "Where's the beef?" . That's a snap to answer. The fast food joint down the street. The super mega sized mart in the meat section. Even down on the cattle farm - or is that pre-beef?? When you think of it, there's beef near everywhere. Not too expensive either.. .)

So I end up spending more on my time on that, than of creating new content. Certain bills and deadlines usually are dominant this time of year, and one has to attend them.

Today's like that. Been working on something for the banks and for potential funders or backers to look over, a rundown on plans for strategies, initiatives, and projects for things Sunman this year and beyond, plus as well background context and a general overview of where everywhere stands, and where it's all intended to go. Re that last thing, George Jefferson would put it.

Movin' on Up !!

Yep, entire month of March can be chewed up, and spat out, attending matters like these.

Still, at Monday past's actors/writers/directors speil, got some good feedback on the openning scene redo to the Sunman short film project, and so I'll be getting to revising this scene a second time with these comments in mind

Stemming from a spam problem ( exploitation of the cache setting for it - only got the word that that was the cause of the spam today ), I've made a complete change of my superhero Sunman Email Inbox account. From now on forward, only a few certain new email addresses will be valid and from henceforth I'm afraid any email address one may find now on my Sunman sites will be invalid from henceforth. things Sunman vrs. the Bug

Sorry guys about the lack of Sunman developments and coverage last while. Didn't get much done cause The Bug Thing that I was fending off got a little worse, and finally had to get the word on it. Seems I got exposed to but didn't get some viral thing going around town.., but.., the exposure turns on me immumo system, and yee being of pretty good health, being as this kind of thing affects athletic types ( I actually do run a lot ), I got a pretty good go at, and had to get something that put the boots to it, and for anytime it crops up again. Still, a very rare instance for me, to be downtimed by anything much of anything, so I shall expect being back a everyday workhorse now that things have cleared - I'm back to pretty well my normal self. Okay, no cracks now about that, ha, ... he says jestfully with a sparkling wink.

Maybe there'll be a future superhero Sunman episode: Sunman versus the big bad Bug.

Overview of plans for the Sunman feature motion picture project

Took some time this afternoon to do an overview and timescales review, and according to my figurings, looks like I may be doing double duty over the next while ( with whatever outside assistance I may bring into the fold ), working on the short film storyline, and meantime ( at least starting by March 1, 2005 ) working over my feature film, Sunman debut, ( the original already written ) script - so that a 2006 sometime debut feature motion picture can have all the more time enough to be ready for release that year, whether for the summer, or if need be, the Holidays time, period.

Besides, while enacting upon such a working plan, project packaging preparation for forging potential deals in association with the feature movie project can be envisioned and pursued - by making the proposed 2006 goal timeline all the more ready doable by my timely early on workover ( made feature ready to go.. do ) of the sceenplay.

At best, the short film done by June 2005, then ( post screenplay ) work begun right afterwards on the debut Sunman feature movie project.. , with a deal or two in place by this time.

The roll cam news.

Next week at the weekly writers/directors/actors session, one clip ( actually of the very beginning scene's dialogue ) from the proposed Sky based short film project is slated to get a taped actors' run through.

Might try to get a taped dialogue run though also of a 'spec' pseudo 'Super Bowl' Sunman and Sky promo "commercial". Just may try to make a digi-video of something like this for the websites eventually - likely as so to help promo the proposed short film project, in this fun type of way.

Was a little behind the last couple days (or would have had the short clip's dialogue ready to go for yesterday's session) while I was beating back some persistent bug or other or something - seems to be relenting some now though.

A second here, a second there.

Having a general outline in place as a guide, today began an approach that should arrive at a completed screenplay for the short film in a time frame from one to two months. You see it's all a matter of a second here, a second there... .

Since the short film project is to be based on drawn medium, indeed broken down into discrete drawn parts each representing discrete short units of screen time, focus is needed only to be attended to a few of these parts each day, something like from three to six per day, whose total time allotment corresponds to mere seconds, something like 20 to 40 seconds, perhaps up to a minute.

By applying focus on a second here, a second there, each day, amounting by day's end to from about a half minute to a minute ( and then next day, another and another ) worth of screen time, within a month to two months, the entire short film script should be done. Furthermore, on route, the various previously done short segments can be ongoingly updated and revised.

At very least, it seems a sure-fire means of ensuring a process that will wrap to storyline's conclusion within a two month max, deadline date certain. Besides, these segments can be given once a week feedback at the writers-directors-actors session.

So for those looking for new postings of material on the Sunman sites, don't fret that there's nuthin new going on..., cause I'll be earstwise pecking away at the short film project, and from time to time likely take some time out to also attend to getting together a new page here, or there, to post of the latest ( now Ep. #3 ) online Sunman Prequel comic book series.

Clock's been started, first "play's" been run, a quarterback sneak straight forward a yard, and now it's six seconds into the game. Time to run a few more rushing plays today, and move those yardsticks ever closer towards the endzone, grinding out the clock and yards til touchdown ! Luckily the next few plays are a sure gimme, already well pre-conceived on the sketch pad.

Gotta go, the deadline referee's whistled time back into play.

Freezer Burn.

The stormy deep freeze January, the 05 , wasn't the most productive month in moving along the short film project. Aiming to get it back moving along in February, the o5. Did just now, at last, after a few storm induced postphonements, begin the actors, directors, writers weekly sessions, so, I'll now see if this will provide some ongoing useful feedback that'll help towards getting everything back on track.

Did have an useful idea I might explore along the concept of radio plays - perhaps I'll try to turn some prequel Episodes into this kind of ( audio only ) format, and then post these on the Sunman websites.

Really the biggest problem all the way along has been not adequate available resources, so the desired set-up and project tools and environments I'd like to employ aren't able to be brought into play. Why things tend to take more time than they should.

As such things go, superheroes can become extremely popular. What I hope to do is use the short film project as a means to more widely distribute in a cinematic form, a compelling part of the backstory world of Sunman, via a storyline of substance, packed with lots of motion and emotion, lots of diversity, and as well spectacular fun and intense drama - a journey arc that in some ways radically and charismatically evolves the character, within the fairly short time span of around one pivotal year in the life ( along with also some earlier times flashbacks ).

After this project is done, the feature motion picture debut project can then be vigorously pursued, given the support of the public awareness and appeal that would have been generated by the preceding short film - a film that can be completed at a cost comparable to the price of a car, somewhat more, or less, depending on what's available for use. Reason for this is that the film is envisioned as a cinematically displayed "drawn" type of project, so the major cost of production lies in paying perhaps two up to a few artists for their contributions, and filming and editing this work - no sets, no actors, no big ticket costs. So if you're a sponsor, your equipement can be an integral "key" credited player in the production, for example any computer hardware or special effects software used to enhance the production will have prominent visibility, as well as will the camera system utilized, etc. .

You might also get in touch if you might like to explore licensing my mark ( superhero ) Sunman for use on promo Tees. I'l like to find a licensee especially in/for the Los Angeles area. Today am working on a ( another type of ) timeline chart for the short film project which will assist the visualization process - and help to fit together the floatsum bits and pieces of information and details that I'm looking at including within the storyline. It should help with getting an overall connective sense of how they will link, or can be forged, together. With the general shape of things thus plotted, I can determine what chunks might be moved about, altered, or substituted by something else that fits better.

Offhand so far, there appears to be some cohension amid the chaos of multiple parts, and I'll be applying some oversight glue to further strengthen structure to some key story spines, while examing how everything can flow together from start to end in a satisfying way.

Can I say more about what's emerging.....????

Trying to nail down new approach.

For the short film project, my trying out this time the method of predetermining the major blocks of the story, and then filling in the storyline, rather than my usual method of beginning with general key goal story point concepts and then starting from the beginning point of the story and writing forward ahead of me the story flow from there in sequence, is proving to be a little tricky for myself, so it looks like I may need to try some other means as well to help better augment the process.

I'm looking at again attending over the next couple months a writers, actors, directors, ongoing scene rehearsal workshop, and perhaps the exchanges and feedback afforded me by this route, will help me with the predetermining methodology being pursued for the short film project.

Had somewhat a slow start off to the first week of the '05, partly due to catching much of the coverage of the Tsunami calamity. Quite tragic and the same time distracting all that. Here's hoping that after the immediate emergency response, that there'll be sufficient ongoing world support for the rebuilding process, as well as for an early warning system which should include an initiative where potential disasters in the making anywhere in the world can be rapidly immediately communicated anywhere in the world to those in potential harm's way. In this day and age, there's really no excuse that a worldwide near instantaneous emergency early warning communication system shouldn't be in place between all nations and their emergency response infrastructures ( the latter which need be as well developed ). This network inclusive not only of underdeveloped countries but developed countries as well, cause bad things can happen anywhere, and there's one thing one can be sure of, the unexpected does on occasion happen.

Superhero Sunman in the ' 05

The '05 is now here.., so what's new with things Superhero Sunman? What's planned for the '05?

Well for starters, working now towards a short film movie project (under a half hour) , in which a pivotal year in the life of Superhero Sunman ( .. back when he's just Sky... ) is to be featured.

Right now, having a fairly complex milieu of contexts that need to be assimulated, I need to plough into some background research awhile until the fantastically gnarly, all that, connective storyline emerges.

The short film format being considered should be relatively word sparse, so once the storyline is down solid, it shouldn't take very long to write the screenplay. So I just need to have the ideas float around me awhile, look at what methodologies will help speed the plough, then kick into interstellar hyperdrive and get the story jotted down and ready for the production stage.

The short film format planned will allow the film to be shot over a pretty short timespan. So if all goes well, by the arrival of Summer (or some weeks thereafter) , it could be ready for release.

Once it's rolling on the wall, so to speak, then people will get a good glimpse about what things Superhero Sunman are about, a sense of the vibe.., especially in context to the various other current mainstay superhero figures like Batman, Spiderman, and Superman.
